Beach

Evan really loves sand!

We had some free time this afternoon, so Evan and I stopped by Devereaux Beach in Marblehead. Evan collected rocks, and I enjoyed the breeze. For the last couple of days it’s been very hot, in the 90s, so we certainly enjoyed the return of more reasonable temperatures. Evan’s hair, his hair, was being tousled by the wind, so I had to take this picture. Look at all the hair!

He collected some rocks to adorn his sand hill.
And he played at the playground.

Radhika’s Beautiful Indian Wedding

Monday, June 25th, 2007

My dear high school friend, Radhika, joined the ranks of us married folk this past weekend. Radhika and her family hosted a celebration that combined the old and the new– a traditional Hindu priest and ceremony, and rocking techno music to dance to at the reception.

First, here are some pictures from the ceremony.

And after the ceremony:

And here we are having a fun time at the reception.

Water Park

Tuesday, June 19th, 2007

Today, Evan and I went to an indoor water park in Danvers. Evan’s daycare provider got us tickets, so we spent the morning with her and her kids, as well as some other friends that she invited. The place was pretty extravagant– and there were a million kids, and a million bored teenage life-guards. Evan was afraid of the water at first, but by the end of our trip, he was splashing around in the pool.

In this next video, Evan does a little dance in the water, and I don’t know if the scream of delight in the beginning of the video is from him or his day-care buddy.

Seat Upgrade

Tuesday, June 12th, 2007

Evan recently “told” me that he was too big for his high chair. Being a reasonable Mom (I hope), I went to the local Baby super-store and picked up this booster seat. Evan is very happy with his upgrade.

Alisa and Evan go to NYC

Sunday, June 3rd, 2007

On Memorial Day weekend, Evan and I took a trip to NYC to visit Auntie Laura. We had a great time exploring Park Slopes and Prospect Park in Brooklyn. More than one playground provided welcome distractions to my 1.5 year old, although it was pretty hot the day we went out. Evan had to wave goodbye to everything…. He’s one of those kids that doesn’t like to say “Hi” to people, but he’s perfect comfortable with the “Good-bye” part.

You can see the Flickr set at NYC The Playgounds of Brooklyn and Queens and some videos of us going down slides on YouTube.
