The best of the photos from our Kansas trip have their own Flickr page. I’ll finish adding titles and descriptions one day.

New Evan videos: High Fives… or not?

Tuesday, July 24th, 2007

So here’s a new video, taken in Kansas, just after my brother left the army base for his 6 month deployment to Afganistan. We’re just hanging out for a few minutes, and I took this short video of Evan high-fiving Uncle Phil… which turned into hitting his dad! I sure hope he gets over this phase soon!

Feel free to comment on my son’s terrible behavior. ;-)

Classic Evan Videos: A Boy and his Dog

Thursday, July 19th, 2007

Here is five and a half month old Evan having a special moment with his dog. This video was taken on March 26, 2006. If you like seeing these, leave a comment, and I will post more frequently!

Classic Evan Videos

Monday, July 9th, 2007

I was transferring files when I found some old videos of us and Evan. You can look forward to some more over the next few days.

Evan is five days old and has the hiccups. Oh no! Poor Jonathan doesn’t know what to do… but he knows that a Dad’s love will surely comfort the little guy. This video was taken on October 19th, 2005.

New Photos on Flickr

Sunday, July 8th, 2007

We’ve uploaded some recent photos to our Flickr page.

We spent Saturday afternoon downtown near Quincy Market. Here is a photo of Evan entranced by the Sea Lions outside of the aquarium. Compare this to a photo taken on June 19, 2006! When the earlier photo was taken, Evan was just getting used to standing up on his own. Now, he’s sitting, kneeling, walking and running. Given a chance, he runs in a straight line as far away from us as possible without even looking back. I’m sure that’s our fault, because someone always follows right behind him… and he trusts us to be there. I’m positive that you’ll be seeing pictures of him with his child harness very soon.

Our 4th of July

Friday, July 6th, 2007

Our holiday was pretty low-key. We went to see the Swampscott fireworks on Tuesday night. We left early because we intended to drive up to NH that night, and there were literally thousands of people down at the waterfront. If we had waited until the end of the fireworks show, we would have been stuck, unable to drive away because of the large crowds of people.

Evan enjoyed his first fireworks. He wasn’t at all afraid. He “Wowed” and “Ooohed” and I taught him “Ahh.”

We then drove up to New Hampshire to visit the grandparents. In the morning Jon went mountain biking with his dad and sister. Evan and I had a leisurely breakfast. We went to visit Grandma at the hospital (she works there). Our next stop was the local Dunkin Donuts, where I found coffee, Evan had some milk, and we both had munchkin donut holes.

Our last stop of the morning was a local playground that Jonathan helped build when he was a teenager. There were some fantastically long slides– one was built on the side of the hill. Evan loved going down that slide! It was wide enough for two people, and it was quite a thrill to go down this slide with his mommy. Then, even better, Dad, Aunty Maura and Grandpa showed up at the playground! Evan got to show off his favorites.

After we got back to the house and had lunch, everyone went up to take naps, except me. I took the opportunity to finish watching “Fever Pitch” and get some studying done. After three hours of studying, I was getting lonesome… but luckily, people started waking up.

The rest of the day was relaxing. Evan got to ride Aunty Colleen’s old tricycle (with a helmet) and we grilled our dinner, including roasted garlic for the bread.

Happy Independance Day, everyone! Tell us what you did on the 4th of July by leaving a comment to this post!
